yeah/nah

Last Updated: 30 May 2024

‘Yeah nah is a commonly used Australian phrase and colloquialism. The phrase yeah nah means ‘no’, but it allows the speaker or writer to ease into their response so as to not come across as too outspoken, or brash.’

This Site

This site is new. I am therefore busy creating basic pages, and playing with design. Silver Bricks was based on a previous wordpress site I had which I’ve just wiped. I wanted a simple space to share.

Other Things

Waiting to plan a holiday for this year. It won’t be far, as we want to go to Japan next year.

We have two cats and two dogs. The dogs are walked every day, twice a day. I record this walking practice and the steps and quests on two quest apps, Conquerer and Pacer. Currently doing Route 66, Indian Triangle and a personal 2024 quest.

Writing

My main project and main work is in writing a fiction series. I have been working on this for many years. I write in the urban science-fantasy genre.

I have previously held several blogs, so it’s nice to get back into that form in this site, Silver Bricks. This is a secondary project for me, so I’ve set a slow burn on publishing once a fortnight to see how it goes.

Learning

Last year I began a journey through Nick Milo’s LYT (Linking your Thinking) Workshop, which continues in sessions this year. This workshop taught me how to manage my personal knowledge, link my thoughts and create a wonderful environment for knowledge and writing.

In May 2024, the LYT Journey brought out a new workshop, WOW (Writing Original Works) which is just winding up. This workshop and community environment is credited for bringing me back into sharing my work on this site.

Hobby or Fanaticism?

I’ve always been creative: I’ve designed, made, researched and crafted in many fields. But this year my husband and I fell into being AFOLs (Adult Fans of Lego), and are busy collecting and building. This site is dedicated to capturing some turns of life through the Lego lens.
